It was proposed to double the time of doctors' appointments in Russia in order to improve the quality of medical care and reduce the risk of medical errors. As Izvestia found out on March 4, Sergei Mironov, the leader of Just Russia, made such a request to Mikhail Murashko, the head of the Ministry of Health.

"The current standard time standards for one initial outpatient visit provide, in particular, 15 minutes for a district general practitioner and a district pediatrician. In practice, this time is often not enough for a high—quality reception, especially for initial treatment and for multiple complaints," the document says.

It also notes that in such conditions, the risk of incomplete diagnosis, inaccuracies in prescriptions and the need for repeat visits increases, which creates an additional burden on the compulsory health insurance system and reduces the availability of care for other patients.

In this regard, Sergey Mironov suggests increasing the standard for the duration of face-to-face admission of a patient by an outpatient doctor to 30 minutes during the initial treatment.

At the same time, according to him, it is necessary to form an "organizational and financial mechanism" that will exclude a decrease in the availability of medical care.

"The implementation of such a measure will ensure a more complete clinical analysis of the case, improve the quality of routing, reduce the proportion of repeat visits for reasons of incomplete examination, reduce the likelihood of diagnostic and medical errors and, as a result, save resources of the healthcare system by reducing excessive referrals and complications," says Sergey Mironov.

On February 21, deputies of the Fair Russia faction in the State Duma announced a proposal to increase the length of additional paid leave for medical workers, taking into account their seniority. The corresponding appeal was sent by the party's leader Sergei Mironov and the head of the relevant committee, Yana Lantratova, to the Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko.
