The Ministry of Justice has recognized the University of California at Berkeley as an undesirable organization.

On March 3, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation added the University of California at Berkeley from the United States to the list of organizations whose activities are considered undesirable in Russia, according to information on the agency's website.

It became known from the published list that the decision to declare the university undesirable was made on February 16.

On February 27, the expanded list of undesirable organizations of the Ministry of Justice also included the Center for Independent Social Research (Germany), the European Network for the Judicial Protection of Prisoners' Rights (France) and the Russian-American Association of Scientists (USA).

On February 5, the Ministry of Justice included the organization Crude Accountability Incorporated ("Responsibility for Crude Oil"), the organization Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group, as well as the Italian Association of Volunteers for International Service in the list of structures whose activities are considered undesirable in the country.
