- Iran pointed out the impossibility of investigations at the attacked nuclear facilities
After the failure of Iran's negotiations with the United States, there are no secure arrangements for conducting investigations at the Iranian nuclear facilities that were attacked. This was announced on March 3 by the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahrain.
"If the negotiations had been successful, this issue could have been resolved through an agreement, but since the negotiations failed, there are no secure arrangements for an investigation at the sites that were hit," Bahrain said, the recording is available on the UN website.
He also stressed that the attacks by Israel and the United States on nuclear facilities in Iran are a violation of international law. In addition, according to him, there were difficulties with conducting inspections at the sites of the strikes.
On March 3, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the damage to the infrastructure of the underground nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Natanz. The agency's experts analyzed current satellite photos and recorded damage in the area.
On March 2, the United States and Israel attacked Iran's Natanz nuclear facility twice. CNN, citing satellite images taken by Vantor, reported damage to the facility on March 3.
A day earlier, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, stated that attacks on the country's territory violate many international treaties and conventions, in particular the Geneva Conventions and the Statute of the IAEA. According to him, the agency should fulfill its duties as soon as possible and condemn attacks on nuclear facilities.
