Experts have named a humiliating sum for a gift on March 8th

For 71% of women, a gift on March 8 worth less than 30 thousand rubles is considered humiliating. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Sunlight jewelry network among almost 4,000 women over the age of 18, which Izvestia reviewed on March 6.

According to the study, 74% of women plan to celebrate International Women's Day. Among those who are in a relationship, 63% hint to their partners in advance about the desired gifts, and 84% do this a week or more before the holiday. Only 12% of women talk about their desires on the day of the holiday.

It is noted that the most desired gifts were money (65%), a new bag (61%) and jewelry (53%). Among the gifts that women do not want to receive, a single flower in cellophane is in the first place (81%), followed by kitchen goods (76%) and sex toys (69%). Waiting for a gift as such was considered undesirable by only 23% of women. So, in principle, the absence of a gift is worse than a bad gift, the study emphasizes.

According to the survey results, 48% of women have already experienced disappointment from gifts on March 8. Moreover, this was most often due to cheap gifts (68%) or those that emphasize the shortcomings of the owner (55%). The amount below which a gift is perceived as humiliating is 30 thousand rubles for 71% of women, 50 thousand rubles for 25% and 100 thousand rubles for 4%.

For most women, March 8 is not only a holiday, but also a relationship test day. So, 65% of respondents believe that a gift should reflect the love and attention of a man, 72% noted the importance of the gift value, 64% — attention and emotions. At the same time, 73% of women will choose an expensive gift, even if it does not have a surprise, and 27% will prefer an inexpensive but thoughtful gift.

Yuri Semichastnov, head of courier services at the Flowwow flower and gift marketplace, said that the greatest rush to buy flowers falls on the two days before the holiday — March 6 and 7. This year, it is expected that demand on these days will grow 5-10 times compared to the average number of purchases in other periods. According to the expert, the optimal time for placing an order is from March 1 to March 3.
