Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, announced the actual start of the federal election campaign. He made this statement on March 3 during a meeting of the federal organizing committee for the preliminary voting of the party.

"Our party is officially starting the selection of candidates who will represent it in the elections to the State Duma of the ninth convocation. In fact, today we are talking about the launch of the federal campaign," Yakushev said, and a recording of the meeting is available on the United Russia website.

He also noted that the party will create all conditions for the full participation of veterans of the special military operation (SVO) in the elections. According to him, the main task in the elections will be to ensure a stable parliamentary majority in order to "confirm the leadership of United Russia."
