Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Andrey Kutepov held a meeting to discuss the development of the Russian electric grid complex. Andrey Ryumin, head of the ROSSETI Group, participated in the event.

"We are grateful for the suggestions that help solve existing issues in the industry. As an example, I can cite the law on backbone territorial network organizations (STSO), in the preparation of which the committee has done a lot of work. STSO's activities bring positive results. Despite the difficult weather conditions this winter, as well as serious challenges in the south, in the center and in the new regions of the Russian Federation, we see that overall reliability indicators have improved across the network," Ryumin said.

In addition, the meeting discussed senators' proposals on optimizing the functions of dispatching control in the electric power industry, tightening responsibility for unauthorized connection to the grid and unaccounted-for power consumption.

They also considered new opportunities offered by the draft law on Assistance to Infrastructural Development. The document, developed by the Ministry of Energy of Russia, contains norms concerning the "retrofitting" of the Institute of STSO and the fair distribution of cross-subsidies between different categories of consumers.
