On March 3, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, founder of the Valeria Alekseeva Chinese Language School, Valeria Alekseeva, told Izvestia.

According to her, the written test allows you to check the knowledge of dates and terms, but it does not demonstrate the student's ability to reason, build cause-and-effect relationships and explain historical events in context. So, the oral format forces the student to formulate thoughts independently, rather than choose an option from the proposed answers.

"The task of the oral exam is to translate this knowledge into a different quality.: not "name the year," but "explain why." With well—designed assessment criteria and good teacher training, it is a conversation with a live examiner that can reveal this understanding more accurately than any test," she said.

At the same time, the expert pointed out the risks of subjectivity and uneven examination conditions. According to Alekseeva, the difference between large urban schools and small rural educational institutions may affect the quality of innovation implementation. She also stressed that two years of training may not be enough.
