Currently, there is a growing risk that the problem of nuclear nonproliferation will begin to spiral out of control. This was announced on March 3 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference following talks with his Brunei counterpart.

"There is a growing risk that the problem of nuclear proliferation will get out of control," Lavrov said.

In addition, the Minister noted the growing nuclear threat in the world due to the situation in the Middle East. He stressed that the escalation of the conflict around Iran could encourage both the Islamic Republic itself and other countries in the region to develop nuclear weapons. At the same time, Lavrov recalled the words of French President Emmanuel Macron about Paris' intention to use nuclear weapons to protect its interests, including outside the country.

"This is also an interesting topic to think about. I am sure that comments will come from a wide variety of political science, academic, and government circles," the Russian Foreign minister added.

On March 2, the United States and Israel attacked Iran's Natanz nuclear facility twice. CNN, citing satellite images taken by Vantor, reported damage to the facility on March 3.

On February 3, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the damage to the infrastructure of the underground nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Natanz. The agency's experts analyzed current satellite photos and recorded damage in the Natanz area.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 2 that the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities could lead to a "second Chernobyl" scenario, and Western manipulation of the nuclear issue was unacceptable. In the context of manipulating the nuclear issue, Zakharova also recalled the intentions of France and Britain to transfer nuclear weapons to Kiev, as previously warned by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation in Iran. US President Donald Trump called it the goal of protecting the American people. Israel and the United States have carried out numerous attacks on military and civilian targets in Iran, including a school in the city of Minab. The largest Iranian cities, including Tehran, were hit. The Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died.
