Six confirmed cases of measles were registered in Transbaikalia

Since the beginning of 2026, nine cases of suspected measles have been registered in the Trans-Baikal Territory. In six cases, the disease was confirmed in the laboratory.

The first case was reported on January 16. A one-year-old child who had not been vaccinated against the infection arrived in Chita from Tajikistan. In the second case, a child from Tajikistan arrived in the Priargunsky district. This is reported by the ChitaMedia news agency.

All confirmed cases are imported. All the cases are children under the age of one year.

In London in February, an outbreak of measles occurred in seven schools and one kindergarten. More than 60 cases of the disease have been registered.
