Courier of telephone fraudsters was detained on Sakhalin

Sakhalin Oblast police have detained an 18-year-old girl who is suspected of aiding and abetting telephone fraudsters. A criminal case has been opened.

According to SakhalinMedia news agency, law enforcement officers received information about the possible arrival of a courier in Okhu from Khabarovsk. The police checked the passengers of the flight, who did not have permanent residence in the city, and drew attention to the girl with the phone. The suspect was monitored. The girl arrived at an apartment building, where she was met by elderly people and handed a package of money. At that moment, police officers made an arrest.

It was established that the spouses of 70 and 75 years old, who met with the girl, had previously spoken by phone with an "FSB officer" who convinced them to cash out all their savings and transfer them to the "collector" for crediting to a "secure" account. The detained girl said that she had found a part-time job in a messenger and had to pick up the money and then deliver it to Khabarovsk.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of attempted fraud.

In Krasnoyarsk, a 16-year-old teenager became a victim of telephone fraud. The boy gave 10.5 million rubles from the safe in the apartment.
