In Fairfax County, Virginia, a U.S. State Department employee was attacked with a knife after a traffic dispute. This was announced on March 3 by The Daily Caller portal.

"The suspect, Jared Llamado of McLean, Virginia, was working for the department at the time of the alleged stabbing and his death," the publication says.

The attacker died after a police officer shot at him "in self-defense." According to the newspaper, the incident occurred on March 1 on a highway near Washington.

After a traffic accident, 32-year-old Lamado stabbed four people. As a result, a 39-year-old woman died from her injuries, and three more seriously injured people were taken to the hospital.

The State Department confirmed that a member of the diplomatic service was involved in the incident. According to the portal, Lamado has been working at the Foreign Ministry since September 2024 and held the position of information technology and software specialist.

The police said that at the moment they do not consider the incident as a terrorist act. Law enforcement agencies continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
