In Perm, the construction of a railway bridge across the Kama River was suspended. Its construction is one of the stages of the construction of the Northern Bypass.

According to the <url> news agency, one of the possible reasons is the suspension of project financing by Russian Railways. The agency notes that workers began leaving the facility back in October 2025, and construction equipment is idle.

At the end of last year, there were more than 500 workers. The others have probably already left. Only security guards will remain at the facility until the end of March.

The information stand indicates that the contractor for the construction of the bridge is a subsidiary of Russian Railways, the Tyumen Group of the customer for the construction of railway facilities. The contractor also specified JSC "Roads and Bridges". The Agency sent relevant inquiries to the organizations and to the press service of the Sverdlovsk Railway.

The Perm Northern Bypass construction project is estimated at over 20 billion rubles. It includes seven stages.

After the completion of the project, all freight railway transport will be able to bypass the KamGPP, and electric trains will continue to run through the dam. The opportunity to optimize the export of goods from the enterprises of the Bereznikovsko-Solikamsk industrial hub to the Transsib will remain.

The bridge was supposed to be completed by December 2027, and the bypass was to be built by 2028.

Earlier it was reported that the construction of the next stage of the new highway on Stroiteley Street has started in Perm. A new section of the highway will be laid from Malkov Street to the Cosmonauts Highway.
