Mexican drug lord El Mencho was buried in a golden coffin

The remains of the liquidated head of the Mexican drug cartel "New Generation Jalisco" Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, known as El Mencho, were taken to the cemetery of the municipality of Zapopan in the state of Jalisco. This was reported on March 3 by the newspaper El Universal.

According to the newspaper, the funeral procession left the funeral home in Guadalajara, the capital of the state, in the morning. The body was transported in a golden coffin. Upon arrival at the cemetery, the hearse was accompanied by an orchestra, and the burial ceremony itself was held in a closed format.

According to the newspaper, the movement of the motorcade and the funeral were accompanied by extensive security measures. The route and the territory of the Resinto de la Paz cemetery were controlled by employees of federal and regional law enforcement agencies. In addition, military personnel were on duty at the funeral home, as well as army armored vehicles.
