Fraud case initiated in connection with reconstruction of Tomsk airport

A criminal case has been opened in the Tomsk Region on fraud during the reconstruction of Bogashevo airport. This was announced on March 3 by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

"The damage to the federal budget amounted to over 6 million rubles," the department's Telegram channel says.

The supervisory authority clarified that the increase in the price of work was framed as compensation for the increase in the cost of building materials. At the same time, according to the prosecutor's office, there were no grounds for reviewing the terms of the state contract.

The investigation of the criminal case is currently ongoing. Its progress and results are under the control of the transport prosecutor's office, the department added.

The investigation believes that 885 million rubles were spent on the purchase of a dummy company.

On February 20, law enforcement agencies reported that Alexander Tararykin, head of the Department for Cossack Affairs, Military Affairs and work with pre-conscription youth in the Krasnodar Territory, was detained by FSB officers in the region. He is suspected of abuse of authority in the development of the budget allocated under the state program "Cossacks of Kuban". The damage to the budget is estimated at 15 million rubles.
