During the discussion of the nuclear deal with Iran, the United States offered the Islamic Republic a free supply of fuel for the country's nuclear power industry in exchange for a complete absence of uranium enrichment for a period of 10 years. This was announced on March 2 by special envoy of the American president Steve Witkoff in an interview with Fox News channel.

"We discussed with them 10 years of complete lack of enrichment, and we would have paid for fuel, but this was categorically rejected," he said.
