Eduard Khalilov, the founder of the Science of Survival course, told us what to do if he fell into the water.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, March 2, the expert noted that when falling through the ice, first of all, you need to call for help from eyewitnesses — those who can help immediately on the spot.

He explained that if a person finds himself in the water, you need to act as quickly as possible: clothes fill with cold water and pull down, so you should get out in the direction from where the victim came from, where the ice has already withstood. According to the expert, you need to pull yourself up with your hands, shift the center of gravity onto the ice and crawl away or roll towards the shore without getting to your feet.

If you can't get out on your own, especially on a river with a current, you can't delay. Khalilov warned that attempts to climb could lead to repeated ice breaking and being dragged under the ice, so it is necessary to loudly call for help and ask eyewitnesses to provide a branch, rope, scarf or cable, writes RT.

The rescuer added that after the rescue it is important to warm up as soon as possible: you need to go to a warm room or car, and if this is not possible, take off and wring out wet clothes and be sure to move so that the body generates heat.

On February 25, rescuers reminded residents of the Moscow region about the rules of safety in reservoirs. Rescuers strongly recommend that citizens do not go out on the ice during snowfall and if they feel unwell. Before going out to a frozen pond, it is necessary to inform your loved ones about the place and time of your return. 360.ru .

On February 20, rescuers found the bodies of seven people who were in a vehicle that sank on Lake Baikal. The tragedy occurred, as confirmed in the text, near Cape Khoboy in the Olkhon district.

Also in February, it was reported that due to the thaw in Moscow, rescuers were patrolling the water areas on hovercrafts, with more than 25 units of such equipment involved. This unique vehicle is capable of moving on water and ice at an average speed of 50-80 km/h, according to the Moscow City News Agency. Citizens were urged to be careful not to go out on the ice, as well as to closely monitor children and pets while walking by the water, writes "Moscow 24".

In December, Honored Rescuer of Russia Sergey Shchetinin said that when getting under the ice, the main thing is not to panic and act as coolly as possible. It is important not to make sudden movements, not to fuss. In particular, it is worth getting rid of heavy things that drag you to the bottom as soon as possible — a down jacket, a backpack, the website writes kp.ru .

Earlier, specialist Alexey Malov explained how not to fall through the ice in winter. So, before going out on the ice, it is necessary to make sure of its strength: the ice is usually stronger near the shore, and closer to the center of the reservoir it may be thinner. He advised checking the ice with a stick and not going out on it if it cracks, breaks through or thawed patches are visible, as well as following official reports on the safe thickness of the ice.
