The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to compensate pensioners for the overhaul without an announcement

LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky proposed compensating pension overhaul fees directly to service providers, rather than transferring them to beneficiaries upon payment. A corresponding letter was sent to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on March 2.

"A pensioner should not become a hostage of bureaucracy. If the state recognizes a person's right to benefits, she should work immediately, and not two months after going to the authorities and collecting certificates. Now, a 70-80-year-old person is required to first pay a capital repair fee from his already modest budget, and then wait for compensation. This is unfair to those who have worked for the country all their lives," Slutsky said.

According to Slutsky, the Liberal Democratic Party offers a simple mechanism: if there is a confirmed benefit, the reduced amount should be immediately reflected in the payment — without applications and visits to the authorities, compensation should be accrued automatically.

Currently, non-working pensioners are entitled to compensation for capital repairs in the amount of 50% upon reaching the age of 70 and 100% upon reaching the age of 80. A citizen must first pay for the services in full and only then receive a refund, while payments can be accrued with a gap of two months. According to the parliamentarian, the implementation of the initiative will reduce the financial burden on pensioners, reduce paperwork and increase the collection of payments in the housing and communal services sector.

On February 14, State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction, led by Leonid Slutsky, proposed increasing fines for officials for violating the rules of maintenance and repair of residential buildings. In case of repeated violations, it is proposed to remove them from office for a period of six months to one year.
