- Sobyanin announced the construction of a pedestrian bridge on Bolotnaya Embankment
Construction of a pedestrian bridge on Bolotnaya Embankment has begun in the capital, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in the MACH messenger.
The new bridge will connect the sections of Bolotnaya Embankment separated by Serafimovich Street. It is planned to complete the work in the fourth quarter of this year.
According to Sobyanin, construction and installation work is carried out from the water. For this purpose, a temporary flotilla of small vessels has been formed — icebreaker-type tugs and barges for the placement of materials and equipment. Part of the work will be carried out from the embankment, which will be built along the Drainage Channel from Repinsky Square to HPP-2 and under the Small Stone Bridge.
"Thus, we do not stop traffic on the roadway. Minor restrictions may arise only during the transportation of materials," the mayor said.
Currently, according to mos.ru The construction site has been fenced off, and part of the parapet and lighting pole have been dismantled to allow vehicles to enter the temporary dam. The filling of the dam continues: the tongue-and-groove has been immersed, and divers are strengthening the embankment with soft containers of sand.
Sobyanin stressed that after the project is implemented, a single pedestrian route will appear in Moscow connecting Vorobyovy Gory, Gorky Park, Krymskaya Embankment and Baltschug Island.
