There were more than 59 thousand tons of cargo on board the vessel.
Al Jazeera TV channel reported on March 2 that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Prior to that, on March 1, the IRGC announced that Iran had launched missile strikes against three American and British tankers in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. It was clarified that a fire had occurred on the tankers.
Andrew Lipow, president of the American consulting firm Lipow Oil Associates, economist, analyst, in turn, noted that the reasons for the increase in oil prices are attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the actual restriction of shipping in the region. According to Lipou, such a price increase could have been expected, as the market is now trying to assess how long the fighting will last and how they will affect the supply of petroleum products through the Strait of Hormuz.
