QatarEnergy halted LNG production due to UAV attack on Ras Laffan plant
Qatar's state-owned energy company QatarEnergy has stopped producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) after an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on its plant in Ras Laffan. This was reported on March 2 by Bloomberg co, citing a statement from the corporation.
"QatarEnergy stopped LNG production after military attacks on its Ras Laffan facility," the publication says.
It is noted that the device was aimed at a water tank located on the territory of the power plant, as well as at another nearby facility.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense of Qatar, reporting on the attack of two Iranian drones on its energy facilities, stressed that no civilian casualties had been found. It was noted that the relevant departments would be responsible for assessing the damage caused by the recorded actions. A day earlier, the Qatari Foreign Ministry called for an end to the escalation initiated by Israel and the United States in the Persian Gulf region and the resumption of dialogue to resolve differences.
