President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on March 2 that the meeting of the delegations of Ukraine, the United States and Russia in Abu Dhabi scheduled for March 5-8 has not yet been canceled, although an exact decision has not yet been made due to the global situation. If a meeting is not possible in the UAE, alternative locations may be used — Turkey or Switzerland.

"The meeting was planned in Abu Dhabi. So far, due to these hostilities, we cannot confirm today that the meeting will be in Abu Dhabi, but nevertheless, no one canceled the meeting. There must be a meeting, it is important for us. We support this meeting," the Ukrinform news agency quoted Zelensky as saying.

Zelensky also stressed that his position on territorial integrity and sovereignty remains unchanged.

On February 28, it became known about the support of the Russian Federation and the United States for the postponement of negotiations in Abu Dhabi. It was clarified that the reason for the postponement of the location of the negotiations is the insufficient neutrality of Switzerland and its excessive proximity to European countries.

On February 18, the third round of closed-door talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States ended in Geneva. The head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, at the end of the meetings, called the trilateral negotiations difficult but constructive. Witkoff, in turn, shared that the parties had made significant progress during the discussions.
