Rusal has provided support to a domestic manufacturer in the development of a new segment of building materials — aluminum alloy roof safety elements. It includes snow holders, roof fences, stairs, etc. This was reported in the press service of Rusal.

"Aluminum is ideally suited for roof safety elements: its strength ensures safety requirements, its lightness greatly simplifies the transportation and installation of elements, and its corrosion resistance increases its service life at no additional cost. With our help, the manufacturing company has developed a range of aluminum elements and is transferring part of the capacity of its new plant in the Moscow Region to aluminum products instead of steel," said Evgeny Vasiliev, Rusal's Director for Aluminum Consumption Development.

Rusal's specialists took an active part in selecting aluminum alloys that were most suitable for their physical and mechanical properties, conducting laboratory tests of the elements, and identifying suppliers of aluminum semi-finished products for the production of final products.

"All the roof safety elements developed by us are certified for compliance with GOST. The anti-corrosion properties of aluminum, as well as its ability to withstand temperature changes from -80 to +100 degrees, determine the durability of products. If we give a 25—year warranty for galvanized steel products, then for aluminum elements — 50 years," said Stanislav Stulov, head of the manufacturing company.

"Aluminum alloy roof safety elements are widely and successfully used in Europe in individual and industrial construction. In Russia, these products are still innovative, but with the start of industrial production, they have excellent prospects to occupy a significant market share," said Alisa Markova, head of the Aluminum Association.
