The Hungarian Foreign Minister denied Kiev's statements about the malfunction of Druzhba

Satellite images clearly show that President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is lying about the malfunction of the Druzhba oil pipeline. This was announced on March 2 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto following a meeting of the National Security Council.

"Satellite images clearly show that President Zelensky is lying. There are no technical or engineering reasons for blocking the Druzhba oil pipeline," the minister said.

Szijjarto stressed that in a situation where oil shipping has become unstable due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, blocking a well-functioning land route is an attack on Hungary. According to him, Zelensky and the Ukrainians are accomplices of the Hungarian opposition party Tisa in this attack.

The Foreign Minister noted that the agreements leading to the blocking were concluded in Munich, and Brussels, Berlin and Kiev made these decisions to help Tisa form a government friendly to Ukraine in Hungary.

He noted that he was aware of the political difficulties that had arisen due to the delay in issuing a loan to Ukraine in the amount of €90 billion.

Szijjarto announced on February 23 that the country had blocked the 20th package of sanctions against Russia and the allocation of a loan to Ukraine worth €90 billion due to Kiev's shutdown of the Druzhba oil pipeline. The Foreign Minister urged not to put pressure on Hungary, noting that it is necessary to do this with Ukraine. Szijjarto stressed that Hungary is a member of the EU, while Ukraine is not.
