In the Stavropol Territory, 5.7 million rubles will be allocated for the development of nurseries in 2026. Most of the funds will be used to modernize the Kalaus forestry.

As the press service of the regional government told IA StavropolMedia, special equipment will be purchased for forestry, including a tractor, trailer and cultivator.

The area of the nursery in the forestry exceeds 35 hectares. Acacia is mainly grown there, as this hardy and drought-resistant tree is ideal for the eastern territories of Stavropol.

Part of the funds will be allocated to the Kirov forestry, which occupies 38 hectares. The money is intended for work on the care of forest-seed plantations.

In total, 10 forestry enterprises are under the jurisdiction of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources. Each has nurseries for growing trees for planting in forests.

At the end of January, it was reported that massive violations had been detected in Russian specially protected areas. Commercial buildings and hunting grounds were opened in nature reserves, illegal logging was carried out, and measures to protect populations of Red Book plants and animals were disrupted. This follows from the submission of the Prosecutor General's Office, which was sent to the Ministry of Natural Resources by First Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoly Razinkin in December 2025.
