Pacific State Medical University was recognized as the best university in the Far Eastern Federal District. By taking the first place in the local ranking of universities in the Far Eastern Federal District, he confirmed the status of the leader of higher education in the district. The rating was prepared by the specialists of the RAEX agency.

When evaluating universities, experts relied, among other things, on data from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the All—Russian Universiades, the student Olympiad "I am a Professional" and the web analytics of Similarweb. The university places were determined by analyzing their final scores based on the sum of weighted assessments based on the factors of "Education", "Science" and "Society".

The second place in this ranking belongs to the Chita State Medical Academy. The Buryat State University named after Dorzhi Banzarov is in third place.

Earlier, the Federal Resource Center for Psychological Services in the Higher Education System found that one in five Russian first-year students has low or very low mental stability.
