A school in Khabarovsk will pay 270 thousand rubles for bullying a child
One of the schools in Khabarovsk was brought to administrative responsibility for bullying a student. In total, the educational institution will pay 270 thousand rubles as moral compensation in favor of the minor student and her mother.
The legality of the district court's decision to recover compensation from the school was confirmed by the judicial board for civil cases, IA AmurMedia writes with reference to the press service of the courts of the Khabarovsk Territory.
They explained that the district court partially satisfied the woman's claim, obliging the educational institution to pay 200 thousand rubles to the most injured student and an additional 70 thousand rubles to her mother, as she also experienced moral concerns for her daughter's safety.
The agency explains that a villager filed a lawsuit against the school. She said that her daughter, while studying at this school, was subjected to abuse and various forms of violence from her peers. The children mentally abused the girl, stole her belongings and damaged her property. The girl's mother complained to the school management and other control bodies more than once, but no action was taken.
The court ruled that the school's teachers had been negligent and had failed to take measures to stop bullying among students. They also ignored the obvious signs of the children's aggression towards each other. All this led to psychological trauma and severe emotional suffering of the girl. This was confirmed by a specialist psychologist.
The school administration was found responsible for the physical and moral suffering inflicted on the child and his mother.
Earlier, Lilia Shuvalova, a psychologist and lecturer at the Department of Sports Management at the Faculty of Sports at Synergy University, said that bullying manifests itself not only in physical violence, but also in insults, systematic bullying, neglect and boycott, and in a digital environment, harassment on the Internet can be no less traumatic than direct physical impact. In such situations, she said, it is important to ensure both physical and digital safety for the child.
