Mishustin recalled the indexation of social pensions from April 1

The Government of the Russian Federation will index social pensions from April 1. This was announced on March 2 by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

"During my report to the State Duma last week, I spoke in detail about the fact that the incomes of the older generation are under special government control. Insurance pensions have been increased since January 1 of this year, and now we will index social pensions starting from April 1," he said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

According to him, the increase will affect over 4 million people. Among them are people with disabilities, orphaned children, citizens who have lost their breadwinner, as well as those who do not have work experience or it is not enough to assign an insurance pension.

Mishustin stressed that the support of the older generation and socially vulnerable categories of citizens remains one of the priorities of the Government of the Russian Federation. The indexation is aimed at increasing the level of material security for recipients of social pensions.

The Head of State instructed the Ministry of Finance and other agencies to deal with the system that restricts the receipt of benefits and payments.

Mishustin reported on February 25 that the Russian authorities are actively involving employers in family support issues. One of these measures will be an increase in the non-taxable amount to be provided to citizens at the birth of a child.
