The second day of the international kyokushin tournament "Cup of Nations" has ended in Moscow. Participants from 43 countries decided to show their skills, including the founders of this martial art, the Japanese.

"This tournament is gaining momentum every year. This shows that sport unites, sport gives the opportunity to meet, make friends like ordinary normal people, gives every athlete the opportunity to compare their achievements and grow," said Mikhail Slipenchuk, President of the Kyokushin—kan Karate-do Federation of Russia.

All athletes have a high level of training, even the current world champions have entered the tatami. However, in this sport, victory depends not only on physical strength — philosophy is important, without these principles even the strongest fighter cannot become a master.

On the first day of the tournament, juniors and adult athletes competed for the first awards. Representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia distinguished themselves among the foreign participants.

The international karate tournament "Cup of Nations" started in Moscow the day before. The competition brought together 1,600 participants from 43 countries and 41 regions of Russia. Athletes compete in the disciplines of kumite (duels) and kata (demonstration of technique), competitions are held simultaneously on six tatami mats. Renowned athletes also take part in the competition, including UFC fighter Peter Yan and honored coach Valery Gazzaev.
