An increase in demand for mushrooms, dried fruits and raw oils was recorded at Moscow fairs during Lent. This was announced on March 2 on the website of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. mos.ru .

The organizers note that thanks to the free provision of retail outlets and modern equipment, farmers from different regions were able to bring fresh crops and unique processed products to the capital.

"Before Lent, people certainly have a growing interest in lean foods. The demand for dairy products and meat is decreasing, while the demand for permitted products, on the contrary, is increasing. Raw oils are usually not taken every day, but in the first days of fasting they have already been purchased a lot — two or three bottles per purchase," said Marina, participant of the interregional fair.

The day before, nutritionist Roman Pristansky called a way not to break down during the fast. The expert noted that with a sudden transition to a lean diet, many people experience nighttime hunger attacks, since the body, deprived of its usual fats and proteins, activates protective mechanisms.
