The Lebanese began to leave the southern regions of the country en masse after the call of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). This was announced on March 2 by the Lebanon 24 portal.

"Traffic jams on the Baalbek–Rayak –Ablakh highway towards Zahle due to the movement of people from the districts of Baalbek after the threats," the publication says.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on March 2 that the Hezbollah movement claimed responsibility for the shelling of the Israeli neighborhood of Haifa on February 28. In response to Hezbollah's attacks on Israeli territory, the IDF attacked the organization's facilities in Lebanon on the same day.

Later, the Israel Defense Forces carried out a targeted strike on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, as a result of which a key representative of the movement was eliminated. On the same day, IDF spokesman Avihai Adrai called on residents of 53 Lebanese villages to evacuate immediately.

On February 28, the US Embassy in Lebanon issued an urgent appeal to American citizens to leave the republic. Individuals who decide not to follow the recommendations of the diplomatic mission should, as emphasized, be prepared for the fact that they will have to stay in Lebanon for a certain period of time.
