Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir summed up the results of the first day of the military operation, stating significant achievements and the continuation of the active phase of hostilities. This is reported in the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

"We are completing the first day of the operation — we started it suddenly, with great force and with very significant achievements that influenced the development of the operation and its outcome. We can already say that what we achieved at the beginning will affect our final result," Zaire is quoted as saying in the publication.
