According to eyewitnesses, the first strike caught them on the beach in the Madinat Jumeirah area, but the vacationers took the work of the air defense system simply for an unusual trace in the sky. There was no panic among the people — they continued to go about their business.

"In the area of Madinat Jumeirah, some clapping was heard in different parts of the city for several hours. We saw in the news that they were evacuating [people] there," one of the tourists said.

A few hours later, clapping was heard in different parts of the city. Authorities began evacuating high-rise buildings, including the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, but in the center, according to tourists, everything remained relatively calm.

In the evening, the travelers witnessed the work of the air defense system themselves — during a taxi ride from Creek Harbor to Business Bay, they saw a drone shot down right in front of them.

A tourist named Aldina told Izvestia about the situation in Dubai on the second day of the Iranian attacks. According to her, the air defense system is still operating in the city. According to the girl, they were placed in a conference room at the hotel instead of the usual rooms. There is no shortage of food in grocery stores — they are filled with groceries.
