The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced on March 1 that it had launched missile strikes against three American and British tankers in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

"Three tankers from the United States and Great Britain, which violated the rules, were hit by missiles in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz and are burning," the Fars news agency quoted the text of the message in its Telegram channel.
