Araqchi called on the Gulf states to understand Iran's actions
On March 1, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called on the Gulf countries to understand the actions of the Islamic Republic, since it is forced to defend itself.
"We are not attacking our neighbors in the Persian Gulf countries, our actions are directed against the American presence in these countries. <...> We know that the Gulf states are outraged by our attacks, but they must understand that this war is imposed on us," he said in comments to Al Jazeera.
According to Araqchi, this war is the choice of the United States and Israel, and pressure must be exerted on them. In this regard, he expressed the hope that neighboring countries would express their dissatisfaction with them.
Araghchi also stressed that the Iranian armed Forces were ordered to "exercise caution when bombing targets in the countries of the region."
On the same day, in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Araqchi declared Tehran's readiness for self-defense after the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Turkish minister, in turn, expressed his condolences over the death of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran. The Israeli and American military attacked the republic, including a school in the city of Minab. According to the latest data, 148 children died as a result of the attack.
In response, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4 and attacked American military bases in the Middle East, as well as Israeli cities. The UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman and other Persian Gulf countries were affected by the Iranian attacks.
