The largest container port in the Middle East, Jebel Ali in Dubai, was forced to suspend operations due to the military escalation in the region, the world's largest shipping companies are avoiding the Persian Gulf, Bloomberg reported on March 1.

"MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co., the world's largest shipping company, has suspended cargo bookings to the Middle East, while A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S and Hapag-Lloyd AG have suspended all crossings through the Strait of Hormuz," the material said.

The media notes that the disruptions in logistics have become a serious blow to the region, where large business centers such as Dubai are located. Their work is directly dependent on trade, tourism, transport and finance, and has a reputation for being a safe haven in a troubled area.

On March 1, the Alsahwa portal, citing data from the Oman Information Agency (ONA), reported that the commercial port of Duqm in Oman was hit by two drones, and one person was injured in a mobile dormitory at the port. The wreckage of the second drone fell in the area of the fuel tanks, it did not lead to human casualties.
