The cruise ship has been motionless in the port of Dubai for the third day due to the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East. This was announced on March 1 by Izvestia correspondent Denis Nechaev.

It is noted that the cruise ship was supposed to leave for Qatar yesterday, but due to the missile attack, everything was canceled. At the same time, he emphasizes that the situation on the ship is calm.

"Yesterday afternoon we were walking near the Dubai Marina and saw explosions, the work of air defense, shot down Iranian missiles," the correspondent said.

Sergey, a tourist from Germany who went on a cruise, shared that so far there is no information about damages. The couple said that if the tourists stay on the ship for the paid seven days, then compensation will not be needed.

Tourist Yulia Lodzhanidze told Izvestia that there were practically no explosions on the liner. She noted that at night, notifications came to the phones about the need to stay in a safe area.

"We can't go on a further journey, but we can go out into the city. The exit to the open decks is closed. We can't use the pools and other outdoor areas," the girl said.

She also noted that it was alarming at night — the passengers packed their belongings just in case and sat in the cabin "ready."

The fact that Russian tourists were stuck on cruise ships in the ports of Dubai and Doha became known earlier that day. Three ships — MSC Euribia, Celestyal Discovery and Aroya — have been at the port of Dubai since Saturday, February 28. Another ship, the Celestyal Journey, is in the port of Doha, the capital of Qatar. Vacationers post messages from ship crews on social media. They notify tourists that the vessels must remain in ports until further notice to local authorities.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation in Iran. US President Donald Trump called it the goal of "protecting the American people." Israel and the United States have carried out numerous attacks on military and civilian targets in Iran, including a school in the city of Minab.

In response, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4 and attacked American military bases in the Middle East, as well as Israeli cities. The UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman and other Persian Gulf countries were affected by the Iranian attacks.

Later, on March 1, it became known that the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed as a result of Israeli attacks. The Iranian government has declared national mourning. An interim governing council has been established in the country. Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian has vowed to avenge Khamenei's death. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the death of the Iranian leader and condemned the assassination.
