Ukraine intends to attract foreigners to the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to problems with mobilization

On February 28, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced plans to recruit foreigners to the Ukrainian army amid problems with mobilization and desertion.

"Our comprehensive plan to solve problems with the unauthorized abandonment of units and mobilization includes certain decisions on how to make sure that there are more foreigners in Ukraine," the RBC-Ukraine news agency quoted him as saying.

According to Fedorov, the plan has now allegedly passed tests during discussions with commanders and experts. He said that in the coming months Kiev will begin to make concrete decisions.

He added that on the front line, Ukrainian army soldiers are often disoriented by their command and do not understand exactly where they are on the line of battle.
