The main sponsor countries of Ukraine have become known
Over the past four years, Western countries have transferred $171.4 billion to the Ukrainian budget. This was reported on March 1 by RIA Novosti with reference to information from the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.
The largest donor was the European Union (EU), which has transferred $88.9 billion since February. Of this amount, $56.9 billion was direct budget financing, and about $32 billion more were allocated in the form of loans secured by income from frozen Russian assets.
The United States has allocated $30.2 billion for several years as a direct replenishment of the Ukrainian budget. Also, $1 billion through loans from the income of Russian assets.
The third leading sponsor of Ukraine was the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which transferred $13.4 billion to the country's budget.
The top five donors included Japan ($12 billion) and Canada ($9 billion).
The World Bank and the United Kingdom each sent $6 billion to Ukraine.
Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party, said on February 28 that due to the possible reduction in missile supplies for Ukrainian air defense systems caused by the US and Israeli operation against Iran, it would be advisable for Ukraine to consider starting negotiations with Russia.
