Pentagon Chief Hegseth spoke about the operation against Iran
On February 28, Minister of War Pete Hegseth, speaking about the operation of Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran, said that the United States "did not start the conflict," but would end it.
"The United States did not start this conflict, but we will end it. If you kill or threaten Americans anywhere in the world — as Iran [allegedly] did — then we will hunt you down and kill you," he said in a post on X.
According to the minister, the "Epic Fury" launched by order of US President Donald Trump is the deadliest and most complex in history.
On February 28, the United States announced the start of a large-scale military operation with Israel against Iran. The Israeli and American military attacked the republic. In response, Tehran has fired missiles and drones at American military bases located in the Middle East.
Russia's permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, said on February 28 that the aggression directed by the United States and Israel against Iran has already led to an aggravation of the situation in the region and may go beyond its borders. The diplomat stressed that the actions of Washington and Tel Aviv risk turning into a humanitarian and economic catastrophe.
