On February 28, US President Donald Trump reiterated that Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei was killed in airstrikes by the United States and Israel.

"He could not escape our intelligence and highly advanced tracking systems. <...> He or the other leaders who died with him could do nothing," the US president wrote on the Truth Social network.
