New York Mayor Mamdani condemns US and Israeli attacks on Iran
On February 28, New York Mayor Zahran Mamdani condemned the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran.
"Today's military strikes against Iran by the United States and Israel mark a catastrophic escalation of the illegal war of aggression. Bombing of cities. Killing of civilians. Opening of a new theater of military operations. The Americans don't want this," the mayor said on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Mamdani noted that the administration is now focused on ensuring the safety of the city's residents, and measures are being taken to strengthen patrols and coordination between departments. He added that Iranians living in New York are not in danger and, despite what is happening, they will remain safe.
Israel attacked Iran on the morning of February 28. Also, the American leader Donald Trump announced the beginning of a US military operation against Iran.
