The Sultanate of Oman has demanded that all parties to the Middle East conflict immediately cease hostilities and called on the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting. The corresponding statement was issued by the country's Foreign Ministry on February 28.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the deep regret of the Sultanate of Oman over the military operations launched by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran," the statement said.

Muscat called on all parties to the conflict to immediately stop the fire, and the UN Security Council to gather to establish a ceasefire. Oman also appealed to the international community to "take a clear position in support of international law."
