The Russian charter airline AZUR Air has launched an unscheduled inspection amid flight delays, the corresponding requirement was issued by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation at the request of Rostransnadzor, the transport department reported on February 28.

"Due to numerous violations in the activities of AZUR Air, including systematic flight delays and violations of passengers' rights (failure to provide proper services during delays, difficulties with refunds)," the reason is stated in the Telegram channel of Rostransnadzor.

The verification events will last until March 5th. During them, experts will assess compliance with the requirements of aviation regulations, as well as determine whether there are systemic problems affecting flight safety and passenger service quality.

If violations are confirmed, AZUR Air may be subject to sanctions, including restrictions on the validity of the certificate. The check should not affect the airline's scheduled flights.

An AZUR Air Boeing 747 en route from Nha Trang to Irkutsk made an unscheduled landing in Hanoi on February 28. There were 238 passengers and seven crew members on board, and no one was injured in the incident.

Prior to that, on January 23, the AZUR Air plane, which was flying from Phuket to Barnaul, gave an emergency signal, after which it successfully landed at Lanzhou Airport in central China. According to the airline, there were 238 passengers and seven crew members on board, but none of them were injured. On the same day, it was reported that the Phuket – Barnaul flight was preparing for an unplanned landing in Lanzhou.
