- Orban announced the continuation of the struggle for the resumption of transit through Druzhba
Hungary will continue to demand that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky resume oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline. This was announced on February 28 by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"Hungary will break the oil blockade, <...> will not back down from the demand to resume supplies via Druzhba,— he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
On the same day, Orban said that the Hungarian government still admits the possibility of cutting off electricity supplies to Ukraine in response to the blocking of oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline. He indicated that this measure would be taken as a last resort, when other ways of influencing Zelensky would be exhausted.
The day before, the Hungarian prime minister accused Zelensky of lying about the malfunction of Druzhba, pointing out that there were no technical reasons to refuse to pump oil through it.
On the same day, Orban announced the creation of a commission on the Druzhba oil pipeline with Slovakia. He clarified that the task of this investigative commission will be to visit the pipeline and verify the reality of what is happening.
