The death toll from an attack on an elementary school for girls in the southern Iranian city of Minab has increased to 70 people. This was announced on Saturday, February 28, according to the Fars news agency.

"There are approximately 70 dead and 90 injured in Minaba, respectively," the media's Telegram channel says.

It is known that 170 children studied at the educational institution.

The attack on the elementary school for girls became known on the same day. Initially, at least five dead students were reported, later this number increased to 24, and after a while it increased to 40, after which it increased to 57. Iran blamed the United States for the attacks on its territory, which, in turn, according to the Politico newspaper, used Tomahawk missiles.

On the morning of February 28, Israel launched a preemptive strike on facilities in Iran. The operation was called "Lion's Roar." Later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded rocket launches from Iran, directed towards the country. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, part of the Iranian armed forces) has launched a large-scale retaliatory operation against Israel.
