The head of the Iranian Defense Ministry, Aziz Nasirzadeh, and the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the country's armed Forces) could have died as a result of Israeli strikes. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on February 28.

There has been no official confirmation of this data yet.

The Iranian foreign minister later told NBC's Matt Bradley that Tehran may have lost several commanders during the strikes by the United States and Israel.

Israel attacked targets in Iran on the morning of February 28, and the United States joined the operation called Lion's Roar. Later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded rocket launches from Iran, directed towards the country. The IRGC launched a large-scale retaliatory operation against Israel.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation demanded that the situation around Iran be immediately brought back into line with a political and diplomatic settlement.
