The death toll in an attack on an elementary school in southern Iran has increased to 60

At least 60 children were killed and 80 others injured in an Israeli strike on an elementary school for girls in the southern Iranian city of Minab. This was announced on February 28 by the representative of the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic Hossein Kermanpour.

"There are 60 dead young children, 80 injured, and only God knows how many more children's bodies will be recovered from the rubble. God grant patience to their families," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Debris removal has begun on the school grounds. The footage from the scene of the attack shows the backpacks of schoolchildren stacked together. Traces of blood and dust can be seen on some of them.

At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi promised to respond to the Israeli attack on the school.

"The Foreign Minister, referring to the attacks carried out against various Iranian cities, including the morning rocket attack on a school in Minab, called this military aggression a gross violation of the basic principles of the UN Charter and a clear crime against peace and international security, emphasizing Iran's inalienable right to defend the country with all its might," the statement said. in his Telegram channel following a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
