Aeroflot cancelled all flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi on February 28 amid attacks by Iran and Israel.

"Due to the temporary restrictions on the use of the UAE airspace, Aeroflot is forced to cancel all of today's (02/28/26) flights to/from Dubai and Abu Dhabi," the carrier's press service wrote on the Telegram channel.

As of March 1, Aeroflot plans to operate flights to these destinations on larger-capacity wide-body aircraft. For passengers of cancelled flights from St. Petersburg, it is possible to fly via Moscow.

In addition, flight routes to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha (charter) and Male will bypass Iran on safe routes. Flights to Abu Dhabi on medium-haul aircraft will be operated with an additional landing in Samara for refueling, which will increase travel time and shift the departure of return flights by one to two hours.

Flights between Moscow and Tehran are still on schedule (once a week on Thursdays). The decision on the March 5 flight will be made later, depending on the timing of the opening of Iran's airspace. The company stressed that the changes made to the schedule will remain in effect until full flight safety is restored for civil aircraft.

Explosions occurred in Abu Dhabi and Dubai earlier in the day. Izvestia published footage from the airport in Dubai after the UAE intercepted several missiles launched from Iran. They show that the tourist area is almost empty.

Iran has attacked four US military bases in Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. At the same time, the IDF launched a massive airstrike on military installations in western Iran. The city of Shiraz was attacked. In addition, 70,000 Israeli reservists were called up for military service. It was clarified that the commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Amir Hatami, was killed in the attack.

The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that Russia demands that the situation around Iran be immediately brought back to a political and diplomatic settlement. The Foreign Ministry pointed out that the fact that the attacks are being carried out again under the guise of the resumed negotiation process deserves condemnation.
