A farewell ceremony was held in Moscow for Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Irina Shevchuk, known for her role as Rita Osyanina in the film "And the Dawns here are Quiet." Footage from the ceremony on February 28 is published by Izvestia.

The ceremony took place in the Large Funeral Hall of the Central Design Bureau No. 1. Relatives, friends and colleagues came to say goodbye to the actress. Many flowers were laid at the coffin. A funeral service was held after the civil memorial service.

"Everything was fine, and she continued her creative activity, she performed, she held a festival...> it doesn't look like it. She was working, and, as a matter of fact, back in December she said that the festival would be held in April <...> It is clear that she would hardly have had the strength for this, because I do not know what kind of miracle was going to happen," said Alexandra Shevchuk, the daughter of the actress.

She added that she was proud of her mother and appreciated what she had done in life. According to her daughter, Irina Shevchuk was a person and a person with a capital letter, with a huge heart, always ready to help others with a pure soul, without expecting anything in return.

Actors Alexander Suvorov and Nikolai Denisov also attended the farewell ceremony. Shevchuk's grave will be located at the Troekurovsky cemetery, added "Газета.Ru ".

Shevchuk's death at the age of 74 became known earlier that day. Her daughter Alexandra said that the cause of death was brain lymphoma, which the actress had been struggling with for the past three years.

On February 24, Elena Drapeko, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, expressed her condolences over Shevchuk's death. Drapeko called the actress a wonderful person and noted her extensive filmography.
