Orenburg beat Akron in the RPL match
The football players of the Football Club (FC) Orenburg defeated Tolyatti Akron with a score of 2:0 in the home match of the 19th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). The match took place on February 28.
The goals were scored by Maxim Saveliev in the 34th minute and Emirjan Gyurlyuk in the 71st minute from the penalty spot. In the 36th minute, Akron's leader Artyom Dzyuba scored a goal, but after watching the VAR, the referee canceled the goal due to the offside of the striker.
Akron, which suffered its third defeat in a row, scored 21 points and ranks ninth in the RPL standings. Orenburg, with 15 points, rose to 13th place from the penultimate, 15th.
In the next round, Akron will play away against Spartak Moscow on March 9, while Orenburg will host Zenit St. Petersburg a day earlier.
Zenit St. Petersburg football club defeated Krasnodar on February 17 in a friendly match at a training camp in the UAE. It was noted that the only goal in the 29th minute was scored by striker Maxim Glushenkov.
